DOLLKURA / GUIDE

TPE and silicone love dolls: what should you compare?

Separate general material characteristics from conditions that depend on the finished model. Check the head, body, weight, care instructions and quote in the same order.

Material names alone do not determine feel or handling.

TPE means thermoplastic elastomer: a family combining thermoplastic processing with rubber-like elasticity. Silicone rubber also comes in many compounds and hardness levels. A shared material name does not make finished models feel or behave identically.

Raw-material heat or weather resistance does not establish a complete doll’s operating temperature or washing method. Follow instructions for the finished model, including makeup, bonded parts, skeleton and any electronics.

Compare the head and body separately.

Some configurations combine a silicone head with a TPE body. Do not infer the whole model’s material from a heading that says only “silicone”; check each ordered component. Confirm what labels such as TPE+ or STPE mean for the particular brand.

Use listed examples to practise reading configurations.

Pansy’s TPE+ label and Mira’s silicone label are starting points for examining those configurations. Their price difference is not a material-only surcharge: height, head, skeleton and options also need to match.

The note on LaceDoll standard and non-sticky TPE concerns that brand’s configurations. Do not apply its conditions to every other TPE or silicone model.

Reading for specifications and practical use

Resolve these four items before ordering.

Choose a configuration that fits your circumstances rather than declaring one material universally better. Keep unanswered points visible and revisit budget or access limits where needed.

  1. Identify each component’s material and connection.
  2. Confirm weight including the head and package dimensions for that configuration.
  3. Confirm care and storage instructions and the repair contact for the finished model.
  4. Obtain the total and lead time for your chosen options in writing.
